A bit more...

I paid off two homes with one of those homes generating income. In the process of paying the houses off, I became cash poor. I am  steadedly building up the emergency fund and savings. I have no regrets getting rid of the mortgages; I sleep well at night in knowing that I can pay my living expenses on a minimum wage house. I am grateful for all the things I have and make it a point to pay it forward.

    My husband and I were also paying off two mortgages (one was rented) so we got to find out just how hard being cash poor was. We sold one of the houses during the year and now have a way more stable financial situation. One mortgage with average monthly payments. We are sleeping better at night too! We did not get to keep both houses but sometimes in life you just can’t have everything.
